Dirty Little Secrets
We all have little secrets.
We all have things to hide.
But to keep things from the one you love,
Don't you know I'd take your side.
Why do you still hide from me?
I thought we'd come so far.
I thought we'd gotten past this.
I thought we'd raised the bar.
But alas, you're still a stranger.
I know less than I thought.
The key to a relationship is communication.
Do you want us to fall apart?
I thought you said you loved me.
Doesn't that mean sharing the truth?
Or has that definition changed?
Is that a foolish part of my youth?

Great Difference
They say we can't all be friends;
That we can't all get along.
But if we try to make it so,
Is it really so wrong?
Why can't people be pleasant?
Can't we accept our differences as such?
We're not cut from the same cloth.
Is that really a cause to fuss?
We can't change who we are.
We can't change what we feel.
We can't change what we believe.
We can't change what's real.
But is that really cause to fight?
Is it cause to disagree?
Not everyone can think and feel
The same as you and me.
And it's not fair to ask that.
It's up to them to change.
If there is speak of altering views,
It's not our place to say.
Allow others to be different,
And they'll allow you to do the same.
Every one of us is different.
That's what makes us great.

Can't Change
I can't change who I am.
I can't change what I feel.
I am my own person.
Everything I feel is real.
I couldn't change if I tried.
You can't change what I believe and say.
This is my own life.
I'm going to live it my way.
We live in a world of differences.
A world where we reap what we sow.
But even in this new age,
We still fear what we don't know.
What's the problem with different?
Why is it so wrong?
No two people are the same.
We all sing our own song.
So how are we expected to think alike?
We all feel what we feel.
Why can't we all just get along?
Is it so hard to believe it's all real?
Well I'm going to fight for what I believe in.
I'll fight for what others believe too.
It's not right to think yours is the only truth.

America of bravery and freedom.
Let's put some truth to that name.
