The Battle of Good and Evil

Both of the armies marched off to battle,
Each soldier heavily armed.
Both sides planned to defeat the other
Before the day was done.
A righteous sight those dressed in white,
With courage in their hearts.
A fiery red bears the leader of the Dead,
Both cunning, wicked, and smart.
Through their lips comes a battle cry.
In their eyes burns a fiery passion.
Neither side would end their fighting
Until the other's annihilation.
With swords and shields brandished high, the battling armies fought on.
Both sides knew who would be the victor even though the battle had just begun.
The leader of the Dead, all dressed in red, to his death he did drop.
The righteous white conquered all in sight and destroyed all that was dark.
But though the white prevailed, for us the battle goes on.
The leader of the Dead we all must face, for born into sin is everyone.
But even though evil does occasionally win and sometimes does come out on top,
The righteous white will be right there to be sure that the battle never does stop.

Betrayal

How can you say that I don't care?

Whenever you were down, wasn't I there?

I cared so much, but you can't see.

You went behind my back, and you betrayed me.

I want to forgive you.

I want things to be right,

But you're determined to ignore me.

Why must we fight?

I tried so hard to win you back,

But all you did was stab a knife in my back.

So next time you're stuck,

When your throat is drawn tight,

And you need a friend to get you through the night,

I'm not going to be there for your shoulder to cry.

You pushed me away and said goodbye.

I refuse to come back.

I'm finished with you.

I'm sick of this battle.

It's over. I'm through,

So when I won't return, and your heart breaks and dies,

Don't bother asking. You already know why.
